I have been a professional hair stylist for almost 12 years. I started my career in Honolulu Hawaii at an excellent school; The Hawaiian Institute of Hair Design. Hawaii was a wonderful place to learn as I was introduced to all kinds of people and hair types. After working at a local salon for nearly three years, my husband and I moved to Harrogate England. While living there I was able to work at a top salon and I enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience as well as learning many great European styles and new techniques.
For the last four years we have called Western Washington home and I worked for a couple of local salons at first, but then I decided its was my turn and struck out on my own. Having my salon allows me to give one-on-one attention to my clients, which I love to do! It also allows me to live by my personal hair philosophy: Listen, Learn, Teach.
Listen
I think that listening is key to a good cut and/or color. I like to take the time necessary to understand what you want. I do this because I know it will make both of us happy with the outcome. You will love your hair, and I know that you will come back with friends and family.
Learn
I like to learn about your hair; what it has been though and what it needs. I can only do this with your help. Please dont be afraid to tell me about your hair history, and describe your likes and dislikes. Thanks to the information youve provided I can teach you how to care for your hair.
Teach
One of my favorite things to do while we are styling your hair is instruct you how you can create the same look at home. Also, teaching you about your hair style and hair type will help you achieve that just came from the salon appearance each day. I'd be happy to suggest professional products that will increase the health of your hair dramatically. Best of all, I can help you avoid common mistakes that damage your hair.
